Aisle recognition is provided by two reflex sensors. One located behind the load wheel on the left and one located on the right rear of the vehicle. Both must be active in order for the vehicle to indicate that it is situated within the working aisle.
Aisle recognitions is utilized to automatically set the steered wheel straight - disable operator manual steering - and require 2 hand operation of the vehicle controls. Both hands must be placed on the vehicle controls when traveling or lifting within the confines of the narrow aisle.
Wire guided aisle recognition is simply achieved when the vehicle locks on to the guide wire path - steering control is turned over to the guidance system and the 2 hand control requirement becomes active. |
